Exploring the Light: Cellular Shadowbox Art (1 session)

Adult | Beginner

Instructor: Lee Ann Lander

Saturday, October 17

10:00am – 1:00pm

Experience and explore a different kind of art-making, that not only looks really cool, but also casts interesting shadows when light is cast upon it to create even more interest. It even becomes interactive if you move the light source around it - like you are literally chasing light and shadows - making it a one-of-a-kind piece that is a good conversation starter.

Using a soldering iron/hot knife, you will cut/burn holes and shapes into a sheet of plastic. Then you have the option to color it with alcohol inks or keep plain. Then you will arrange your pieces together and pin them to a backing board and insert into a shadowbox frame. Every part of this process is intriguing and fun!
