Term: Fall Term

30 in 30: Art in Series and Iteration (9 sessions)

Adult | All Skill Levels

Instructor: Joseph Lombardo

Tuesdays, September 15 – November 10

10:00am – 1:00pm

Creating artwork by series leads ideas and skills to transform and strengthen over time. In other words, your first is not your best. Keep pushing. Students will be challenged to create a connected series of 30 artworks in 30 days. Actually we will have more than 30 days, but that allows us some buffer time (Out-of-class/Homework is optional).  This assignment is my favorite, and I have found it to make the most student growth and success, above all others. I have organized the course based on the concept of art thru iteration.  Students will propose a plan for their series with instructor guidance. Each week new artworks will be made and added to the series. Through critique, exploration, and iteration students will elevate their series to make their strongest work to date. A fresh start each day drives creativity. We will experiment, push boundaries, and learn from repetition. Each day is a new opportunity to create.
