Wes Molebash has been drawing comics since he was 10 years old, when his mom bought him a how-to video cassette about newspaper comic strips. He started drawing cartoons for his high school paper, then for the Chillicothe Gazette before publishing a few book collections of his comic strips from a webcomic. In the 2010s, he started freelancing and self-publishing until 2020, when he landed a book deal for his graphic novel series about Travis Daventhorpe, an 11-year-old socially awkward robotics engineer who discovers a magical sword and must defeat an evil emperor from another dimension. Wes lives in southern Ohio with his wife, 2 sons, and a shaggy golden doodle. He will share his love of cartooning and how his life in rural Ohio has influenced his art and storytelling.
Wes Molebash is the creator of several popular webcomics, most notably You’ll Have That (Viper Comics) and Molebashed (self-published). He’s also created cartoons for companies and organizations such as The Ohio State University, Target, and PBS Kids. Wes is the cartoonist of the graphic novel series, Travis Daventhorpe for the Win!, published by 01:First Second Books. The third book in the series, Travis Daventhorpe Gets a Life!, is available on July 21, 2026!
