Dhvani Presents a Violin and Percussion Extravaganza with virtuosos Sruthi Sarathy and Abhinav Seetharaman
Sruti Sarathy (www.srutisarathy.com) is a rare artist who possesses both mastery in the rigorous classical form as well as a boundary-pushing musical vision. Trained in the renowned Lalgudi style of Carnatic violin, Sruti has accompanied leading Carnatic musicians like Sudha Raghunathan, TM Krishna, Flute Shashank, and many others. Sruti’s soulful sound brings out the voice of the Indian violin in a contemporary and imaginative way.
Abhinav Seetharaman (https://abhinavseetharaman.squarespace.com) began learning the mridangam at the age of seven under Sri N. Ganesh Kumar, Sri Vijay Ganesh, and Sri Tiruvarur Vaidyanathan. He later continued his training under Sri Kumar Kanthan while simultaneously undergoing advanced tutelage with the late maestro Guru Karaikudi R. Mani for 11 years, and is currently under the mentorship of Sri Anantha R. Krishnan.
Abhinav regularly performs internationally with the world’s leading Indian classical musicians. Beyond performance, he is also an active educator, presenting lecture-demonstrations, seminars, and workshops on South Indian percussion at universities and institutions across the United States.
Professionally, Abhinav works in the Government Affairs and Policy team at Mastercard.
