"As I go about my weekly rhythms, I am so often delighted by the positive energy given to me in the very briefest of interactions. Those exchanges are often kind, life affirming and sometimes humorous. These chance encounters delight me and elevate the moment. Human beings can be so much.
Painting the human figure is an intimate undertaking, especially when working from life. There is a sharing of information and an unspoken agreement of trust. A good painting results from a positive mutual experience between model and painter.
Some of the works before you were painted from life and some used photos a reference. All were painted with joy and hold an aura of “what’s right with this world” for me. These people inspired me with their imperfect goodness.

Linda Hutchinson has been making art for the better part of her life, originally in the greeting card and home décor markets. Currently, her efforts are concentrated on painting, especially the human figure. Major Awards include: Juror’s Choice award in the OOVAR (Ohio Arts Council) Exhibition at the Columbus Metropolitan Library (2018, 2019, 2020); The Ohio Watercolor Society Gold Medal in 2001; First Night Akron button artist in 2008; and twice the recipient of The Kaleidoscope Award at Summit Artspace in Akron, Ohio. Collections include: The Ohio Watercolor Society; Parkersburg Art Center (WV); and The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio. My work is represented by: Hudson Fine Art and Framing (Hudson, OH) and The Sharon Weiss Gallery (Columbus, OH). She teaches both watercolor and oil painting at The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
