Maalavika stands apart asa one of the rare musicians to have been trained as per the ancient system of Gurukula Vasam for a whole decade, under the tutelage of legendary guru, Smt Padmavathy Ananthagopalan. Honing her young mind to the rigorous discipline of this ancient learning tradition staying with her guru, Maalavika's single-minded sadhana (dedicated pracrice) enabled her to soak in every complex theory and voice work in Carnatic music, while balancing her time to study and excel in her academics equally. The legendary Pandit Jasraj is among the many legends who have showered blessings over her splendid mastery over this classical form. Maalavika embraced her entry into Indian idol and super singer! She is A Grand Artiste All India radio Chennai. She is currently learning under Maestro Sriram Parusuram.
