Join exhibiting artist, Robie Benve, in an informative and in-depth tour of her exhibition, "Transient Boundaries: Mixed Media Narratives in Nature," at the McConnell Arts Center. This will be an opportunity for patrons to be in conversation with the artists about the work as they tour the exhibition.
Robie Benve
Born and raised in Italy, Benve earned an MBA from the University of Venice, Italy. In 2010, her journey led her to Columbus, Ohio, where she found the opportunity to pursue her artistic calling and got to experience first-hand the transformative power of art.
Best known for her vibrant and expressive use of mixed media, Benve expresses her creativity to craft pieces characterized by the incorporation of intricate patterns and unique marks, resulting in a distinctive visual language that captures the imagination.
Over the years, her award-winning work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions across Ohio and nationally. Her creations have found a home in private collections in the United States, Spain, and Italy.
She received several grants from the Greater Columbus Arts Council and has been an artist in residency at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center and in Padua, Italy.
Her commitment to fostering artistic expression extends beyond her personal creations. In her roles as the Art Coordinator at The Ohio State University Faculty Club, an active member of several art leagues, and a painting instructor, she plays an integral part in cultivating an environment that celebrates creativity and artistic exploration, providing guidance to fellow artists seeking to improve their skills.
Benve is passionate about sharing what she’s been learning with others. Besides teaching classes and workshops, she authored many online articles published on Hubpages.com and other sites.
Her painting “The Colosseum” is featured on a mural in the heart of the Columbus Short North Art District, a vibrant part of the local artistic tapestry.
