Matthew Kurk joins the McConnell Arts Center with many years of experience in non-profit administration and fundraising. A passionate supporter of the arts, he’s excited about the interdisciplinary nature of the MAC and helping to create experiences in the arts for everyone in our community. Prior to joining the MAC, Matt served as Director of Advancement at ProMusica Chamber Orchestra for 8+ years. He also spent many years working in higher education fundraising and alumni relations, including positions at Ohio Wesleyan University, The Ohio State University-Wexner Medical Center, and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study in Cambridge, MA.

A French hornist, Matt completed his undergraduate degree in Music from Eastern Kentucky University and also holds a master’s degree in Music Performance from Boston University. An active performer in the Columbus area, Matt plays regularly with groups such as the Central Ohio Symphony, Worthington Chamber Orchestra, Westerville Symphony, and Vaughn Wiester’s Famous Jazz Orchestra.

Matt and his wife Nicole (and their dog Oslo) are long-time Worthington residents and love being able to walk to the Farmer’s Market, library, and the shops and restaurants in Old Worthington. In his free time, Matt enjoys traveling, hiking, and checking out new restaurants. A live music lover, you'll often find him at KEMBA Live!, the Newport, and Ace of Cups.
