Dan is one of eight children. He was raised in North Baltimore, Ohio. Pop. 3000. His dad managed a grain elevator and his mom was the mother that every kid in the neighborhood wished was theirs. He is married to artist Judy Chesnut-Gerdeman, and father of three. He taught art in the Hilliard City School District, and is a member of the Ohio Art League. Gerdeman’s major influences are The North Baltimore Public Library, Fontaine Fox, old movies, and the Sunday cartoon pages."
